Te mapa
Lander is a municipality in Venezuela's Miranda state. It lies in the Valles del Tuy, a region of valleys and low hills south of Caracas that has grown quickly as a residential area for people who work in the capital. On a map, settlement follows the valley floors and the roads, with green hills breaking up the built-up areas.
The municipality is named after Tomás Lander, a nineteenth-century Venezuelan journalist and politician. The landscape is uneven, so its streets rarely form a clean grid. Older centres have compact blocks, while newer neighbourhoods spread in curving patterns wherever the ground allows. Rivers and creeks cut through the terrain, and open slopes separate the clusters.
A Lander map poster shows that landscape at a human scale: clusters of streets, loops of road around the hills, and blank spaces where the land is too steep or wild to build on. It does not feature famous landmarks. The poster is simply a portrait of the place where people live, and it keeps the streets of home in view.
Built-up areas follow the valley floors of the Tuy region, forming separate clusters of streets instead of one continuous city.
Low green hills interrupt the street network, leaving open spaces that give the poster rhythm and keep it from looking crowded.
Roads between neighbourhoods curve around the terrain, linking the clusters with long, flowing lines across the map.
