Regular town grid
Straight streets and even blocks make up the town centre. It is one of the most orderly layouts in the region and prints very crisply.

Te mapa
Las Heras is in the north of Santa Cruz province in Argentine Patagonia, inland from the Atlantic coast of the Gulf of San Jorge. The town grew as the end of the railway line from Puerto Deseado and later became an oil town. The surrounding basin is one of the country's long-standing oil-producing areas.
From above, the town is a regular grid of blocks laid out on flat, dry ground. The contrast with its surroundings is strong. Around the town there are no forests or rivers to fill in the map, just open steppe crossed by roads and service tracks leading to oil installations scattered across the plateau.
A Las Heras map poster is about that contrast between order and emptiness. The grid is drawn with firm lines, and beyond its edges the page becomes almost blank, apart from the thin lines running out into the landscape. Printed large, the result feels close to graphic design, and it reflects well how isolated Patagonian towns really are.
Straight streets and even blocks make up the town centre. It is one of the most orderly layouts in the region and prints very crisply.
The town grew at the inland end of the former railway from Puerto Deseado. That history still shapes where it sits on the plateau.
Around the town, dry Patagonian land stretches in every direction and is crossed only by roads and oilfield tracks. On paper it reads as wide, quiet space.

Koteā ko Las Heras
For people who worked in the oilfields or grew up in the south of Patagonia, a map of Las Heras shows home as it is: a clear grid in a vast landscape. It is a strong, graphic piece even for those who never lived there.
Add your own title, subtitle or coordinates and pick one of five styles. Sand matches the colour of the steppe, and Noir makes the grid stand out against a dark background.
