Te mapa
Leipsoi, often written Lipsi, is one of the smaller inhabited islands of the Dodecanese, lying just north of Leros and east of Patmos. Its coastline is remarkably intricate for an island of its size: narrow peninsulas and deep coves alternate all the way round, so that the outline looks more like a starfish than a single shape. Numerous uninhabited islets lie close by.
Almost all of the island's life gathers around a single harbour village set on a sheltered inlet. Its streets form a dense knot beside the water, while a handful of roads reach outward across low hills to beaches and chapels in the outlying coves. Beyond them the land is quiet, crossed by paths and dotted with scattered buildings.
Local tradition sometimes links Leipsoi with Ogygia, the island where Calypso kept Odysseus in the Odyssey, though that claim is shared with several places. A Leipsoi map poster brings out what is certain: an island with far more coastline than its sixteen square kilometres would suggest, and a village compact enough to take in at a glance.
Headlands and narrow bays alternate around the entire island, giving it a long, restless outline that fills the frame with fine detail.
The single village clusters around its port, a small, dense block of streets that serves as the natural focal point of the whole map.
Small uninhabited islets lie scattered offshore, adding a spray of shapes around the main island that reads as part of the same composition.

Koteā ko Leipsoi
Leipsoi is the kind of island people return to year after year, and its map is personal in that way. It suits someone who has spent slow summers there, or who simply likes a coastline that looks almost hand-drawn.
Set the title and subtitle, perhaps the name of a boat or a favourite cove, adjust the coordinates line, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
