Te mapa
Lushar is the main town of Huangzhong, a district of Xining in Qinghai, at the northeastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau. It lies in a valley surrounded by high hills, and the map shows the built area stretching along the lower ground, with roads following the valley floor and the slopes remaining largely empty.
The town is best known for Kumbum Monastery, also called Ta'er Monastery, one of the most important monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. It was founded at the birthplace of Tsongkhapa, the school's founder, and its halls and courtyards climb the hillside on the edge of town, forming a cluster of their own on the map.
A Lushar map poster captures a town shaped both by its terrain and by a religious landmark. The valley gives it a long, directional form, while the monastery adds a separate, intricate grouping of buildings and paths. The Paper and Sand styles suit the high, dry setting, while Noir brings out the hills as dark space.
The monastery complex sits on the hillside at the edge of town, a dense grouping of halls, courtyards and paths at the birthplace of Tsongkhapa.
The town follows the lower ground between hills, giving it a long, narrow shape with main roads running along the valley floor.
Roads lead northeast towards Xining, the provincial capital, linking the town to the wider region and giving the map a clear direction of travel.
