Te mapa
Madre de Deus is an island municipality in the Baía de Todos os Santos, in northern Bahia. It is linked to the mainland by a bridge. On a map, the town fills most of a small island with irregular edges, and water surrounds it on every side, broken up by smaller islets and inlets.
The island is known for its oil terminal, run by Petrobras, which handles fuel for the refinery region around the bay. Its piers and storage areas take up part of the shoreline. The rest of the island is a dense residential street network, with small beaches and fishing moorings along the water's edge.
A Madre de Deus map poster frames the whole island as a single shape: a pale block of streets surrounded by the dark water of the bay, joined to the mainland by the thin line of the bridge. It is one of the more graphic compositions a map of a small town can make.
The island's irregular coastline surrounds the town completely. It gives the poster a clear, self-contained shape set against the water of the bay.
A single bridge connects the island to the coast. On the map it is a short, deliberate line and the town's only fixed link to the rest of Bahia.
Piers and industrial areas on part of the shoreline serve the Petrobras terminal. Their geometric shapes contrast with the residential streets.

Koteā ko Madre de Deus
For families on the island, workers in the oil industry, and people from Bahia now living elsewhere, a map of Madre de Deus is a strong, recognisable image of home. The island's clear outline makes a poster that holds its own on any wall.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example to add a family name or a meaningful date. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. HD files cost $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
