Te mapa
Mae Sai is the northern end of Thailand's main highway, and its map makes the border impossible to miss. The town runs up to the Sai River, a narrow stream that separates it from Tachileik in Myanmar, with a bridge carrying people and goods across. Streets branch off the main road in a dense, irregular web, while hills rise sharply to the west of the centre.
Border trade has long defined the town, and the market streets near the crossing are its busiest quarter. On a hill above the centre stands Wat Phra That Doi Wao, a temple with wide views over both countries. The district also includes the Tham Luang cave, which became known worldwide in 2018 when a young football team and their coach were rescued after more than two weeks inside.
A Mae Sai map poster turns this frontier into a clean graphic: the thin line of the river, the crossing point, the concentrated streets on the Thai side and the slopes that close in around them. It is a small place with a very particular position, and the map shows exactly why that position matters.
The narrow river forms the international boundary along the town's northern edge, a slim line of water that separates two countries on one sheet.
The road bridge to Tachileik is the focal point of the street network, with the main road running straight toward it from the south.
Just west of the crossing, a steep hill topped by a temple interrupts the street pattern and gives the map a clear point of elevation.

Koteā ko Mae Sai
Travellers who have crossed here, or who have spent time in the far north of Thailand, often remember Mae Sai as the place where the road simply stops at a river. A map poster keeps that feeling of an edge in a quiet, graphic form.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a trip, a name or a date, and keep or adjust the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and either download the files for $9 or order a matte print, with a wooden frame if you like.
