Te mapa
Mafeteng is the capital of Mafeteng District in western Lesotho, located in the country's lowlands, not far from the border with South Africa. The term lowlands is relative here: Lesotho is the only country lying entirely above 1,000 metres, and even its lowest point is higher than that of any other country.
On the map, Mafeteng appears as a town spread across gently rolling ground, with its streets arranged around the main road that runs through it toward the border and toward Maseru. Beyond the town, the land opens into fields, villages and grazing land, with the mountains of Lesotho rising farther to the east.
The area is largely agricultural, and the patterns of fields and small settlements fill the land around the town. A Mafeteng map poster captures this place on the western edge of the country, with its compact centre, the roads leading out and the open, elevated landscape of the Lesotho lowlands.
The main route through town connects Mafeteng to Maseru and to the border, forming the central line around which the town's streets are arranged.
The town spreads over gently rolling terrain, part of the lowlands that still lie well above 1,000 metres in elevation.
Beyond the town, small villages, fields and tracks are scattered across the landscape, filling the edges of the map with fine detail.

Koteā ko Mafeteng
For Basotho at home or abroad, a map of Mafeteng is a lasting link to a place and a family. The town's open, uncluttered shape on the high plain gives the poster a calm balance.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a village name or year. The map is available in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
