Te mapa
Mannanchōri lies just north of Alappuzha in Kerala, on the long, narrow strip of land that separates the Arabian Sea from the Vembanad backwaters. The ground here is barely above sea level, and homes, gardens and coconut palms spread almost continuously, so on a map the settlement has no sharp edge but merges into the neighbouring villages along the coast.
The map pattern is shaped by water as much as by roads. Canals and backwater channels cut through the land, and the main coastal highway runs north to south, with small lanes branching toward the sea on one side and the lagoons on the other. It is a characteristic Kerala landscape, where the line between village and town is almost impossible to draw.
The Alappuzha area has long been associated with coir, made from coconut husk fibre, and with the houseboats that travel its backwaters. A Mannanchōri map poster renders this mesh of lanes, canals and shoreline in fine black lines, a quiet, detailed composition for anyone with family roots in this part of Kerala.
The settlement sits on a slender coastal strip, with the Arabian Sea shoreline to the west and the channels of the backwaters to the east.
The main north–south road runs along the strip, linking Mannanchōri to Alappuzha and Cherthala, with lanes branching off toward both shores.
Narrow waterways cross the landscape, a hallmark of the Alappuzha region, adding thin, curving lines to the dense pattern of lanes and plots.

Koteā ko Mannanchōri
Many families from coastal Alappuzha now live far away, in other Indian cities or abroad. A detailed map of Mannanchōri keeps the familiar shape of home close at hand, with its lanes, canals and shoreline.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a house name or family name, and choose from five styles. Printed posters on matte paper ship from partners in more than 30 countries, with an optional wooden frame.
