Te mapa
Manteca sits on the floor of California's San Joaquin Valley, and from above its plan is as level as the land. Streets follow a square grid aligned with the old farm sections, so main roads fall at regular intervals and subdivisions fill the blocks between them. Around the edges, the grid dissolves into rectangular fields and orchards, which the town's growth has pushed steadily outward.
Highway 99 runs along the eastern side of the city and State Route 120 crosses it from the west. The two corridors form the main lines of the map and link Manteca with Stockton, Modesto and the Bay Area. A rail line also passes through, a reminder that the town began as a railway and farming settlement.
The name is usually traced to the Spanish word for lard or butter, reportedly a reference to a local creamery. Today the town is mostly commuter suburbs and farm service, and its outskirts still hold almond orchards and dairy land. A Manteca map poster shows the valley at its most graphic: clean lines, repeating blocks and farmland stretching out toward the horizon.

Highway 99 and Route 120 give the map its strongest lines. They carry traffic through the valley and toward the Bay Area.
Beyond the last subdivisions, orchards and fields continue the grid in larger rectangles, so the town fades into a patchwork of agricultural plots.

Koteā ko Manteca
Manteca is where many families bought their first home or put down roots in the valley, and the clean grid makes for a simple, orderly print. It suits an entryway, an office, or anyone who likes the geometry of the valley.
Add your family name, a street or the year you moved in, and adjust the coordinates line. The five styles are Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand suits the warm, dry valley especially well.
