Marshall is the seat of Harrison County in East Texas, close to the Louisiana border. It grew as a nineteenth-century railroad and trading town. It is home to East Texas Baptist University and to Wiley College, a historically Black college whose debate team inspired the film The Great Debaters. Each winter the Wonderland of Lights festival decorates the historic courthouse and downtown.
The map centres on the courthouse square, and a regular grid of downtown streets extends from it in every direction. Railroad lines cut through at angles, a reminder that the town was a Texas and Pacific Railway hub. Farther out the grid loosens into residential streets, and creeks, pine woodland and highways toward Longview and Shreveport break up the surrounding land.
A Marshall map poster appeals to alumni of its two colleges, to families with long roots in East Texas and to those who come back every December for the lights. The tidy grid, the diagonal railway lines and the soft texture of wooded land make a strong composition on the wall.

Rail tracks slice diagonally through the town grid. They recall Marshall's history as a Texas and Pacific Railway centre and add bold lines to the print.
Wiley College and East Texas Baptist University appear as distinct campus blocks within the city, their quads and paths clearly different from the surrounding streets.

Koteā ko Marshall
Marshall has a way of staying with people, whether they studied here, grew up near the square or married in town. A map on the wall keeps those streets present and makes a meaningful graduation, anniversary or housewarming gift.
Add your college, class year or family name in the subtitle, and edit the title and coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and order a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
