Te mapa
Migori is the main town of Migori County in southwest Kenya, not far from Lake Victoria and the border with Tanzania. The Migori River flows past it, and the main highway toward the border runs straight through. On a map these two features dominate: one a winding natural line, the other a firm road around which the town's streets gather.
The surrounding countryside is green and gently rolling, with small farms, homesteads and field paths creating a fine rural pattern. The wider area is also known for small-scale gold mining, which has shaped local life in several parts of the county.
The town centre is compact, with markets and commercial streets along the highway. Residential neighbourhoods spread out more loosely around it. A Migori map poster captures this layout: the river crossing, the busy road corridor, and the pattern of farmland around the town. The result is a clean, clear view of a regional crossroads.
The river curves near the town, adding a soft, organic line to the composition. It gives both the town and the county their name.
The main road toward Tanzania runs through the centre. Shops and markets line it, and it forms the backbone of the town's street pattern.
Small farms and homesteads fill the land around the town. On the map they create a delicate, scattered texture of paths and plots.
