Te mapa
Musoma sits on the eastern shore of Lake Victoria, on a stretch of land that pushes out into the water. From above the lake dominates: a vast, empty surface on the map, against which the town's streets show as a compact network of lines narrowing toward the shore. Small bays and irregular edges break up the coastline, and the built area stops where the water begins.
The town is the capital of the Mara Region, which reaches from the lake eastward toward the Serengeti. Musoma is closely linked with Julius Nyerere, Tanzania's first president, who was born at Butiama, a village in the same region, and the area remains an important part of his story. Fishing and lake transport have long shaped life on the waterfront.
A Musoma map poster works through contrast. Much of the frame can be lake, held as calm open space, while the town gathers into a dense cluster on the land side, with roads leaving inland toward Butiama and the rest of the region. It is a simple composition, and it shows plainly how much the water decides where people live.
Africa's largest lake wraps around the town on the map. It gives the composition a broad white or dark field that makes the street pattern stand out sharply.
Near the shore the roads grow shorter and more tightly spaced, a sign of the town's long connection to fishing, landing sites and boats crossing the lake.
A few main roads leave the compact centre for the interior of the Mara Region, running as long single lines across the otherwise sparse landscape.

Koteā ko Musoma
This map suits anyone with roots in Mara or memories of the lake, and those drawn to Nyerere's home region. The balance of water and town makes a calm, spacious image that works well above a desk or in a bright room.
