Te mapa
Milledgeville was laid out in the early nineteenth century as a purpose-built capital for Georgia. The state government sat here from 1804 until 1868. That planning shows clearly on a map: a regular grid of broad streets and generous blocks, with the Oconee River bending past the eastern side of town.
The Old Governor's Mansion and the former state capitol building still anchor the historic district. Georgia College occupies a campus close to the centre. The writer Flannery O'Connor lived and worked at Andalusia, a farm just outside town. Many visitors come to Milledgeville because of her.
A Milledgeville map poster shows the contrast between the tidy original plan and the looser roads and subdivisions that grew around it later. The river, the wooded edges and the older square blocks give the print a clear structure. It suits anyone who knows the town through study, work or family.
The original town plan is a disciplined grid of wide streets and large blocks, designed for a seat of government and still easy to read from above.
The Oconee River curves along the eastern side of town, giving the grid a soft natural boundary of water and green floodplain.
Georgia College sits close to the historic centre, so campus buildings and green spaces blend directly into the old street pattern.

Koteā ko Milledgeville
Milledgeville is a college town, and the map often goes home with graduates as a reminder of the years spent walking its grid. It also suits readers of Flannery O'Connor and anyone with roots in central Georgia.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a graduation year, a house name or a date, and keep or edit the coordinates line. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
