Te mapa
Mobara lies in eastern Chiba Prefecture, a short way inland from the long Kujūkuri coastline of the Bōsō Peninsula. The JR Sotobō Line runs through the city. The streets around Mobara Station form a dense core that quickly gives way to residential districts, rice paddies and low wooded hills at the city's edges.
The city sits above part of the southern Kantō gas field, and natural gas and iodine drawn from underground brine have shaped local industry for decades. Mobara is also known for its summer Tanabata festival, when the shopping streets near the station fill with paper decorations and long streamers hanging above the crowds.
On a Mobara map poster the railway forms a firm spine, and streets branch from it in the irregular, organic web typical of Japanese towns. Around the edges, paddy fields show up as fine rectangular patterns, and the hills add softer, winding roads that follow the shape of the land.
The blocks around Mobara Station are the densest part of the map, a tight mesh of small streets that thins out in every direction.
The railway crosses the city in a steady line between Chiba and the Pacific coast, giving the poster a clear axis to read from.
Rice paddies surround the built-up area in small geometric plots, and low wooded hills bring curving roads and pale open space to the edges.

Koteā ko Mobara
Mobara is a place people commute from, grow up in and come back to for the summer festival. A map of it keeps that everyday geography close: the station, the walk home, the fields at the edge of town.
You can use the city's name as the title or write your own, add a date or a family name in the subtitle, and edit the coordinates line. The five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, change the mood without losing detail.
