Model Town Map Poster & Print
Model Town is one of Lahore's best-known residential areas and one of its earliest planned suburbs. It was founded in the early 1920s as a cooperative housing society in the spirit of the garden-city movement. At a time when the old walled city was tightly packed, it offered generous plots, tree-lined roads and plenty of open space.
Its plan is instantly recognisable from above. Roads form concentric rings around a large circular park at the centre, radial roads cut across them, and the whole area is divided into lettered blocks. Lahore has since grown all around it, but the geometric layout remains clear, and it is one of the most distinctive street patterns in the city.
