Mölln Map Poster & Print
Mölln is a small town in the Duchy of Lauenburg in Schleswig-Holstein, and its map is dominated by water. The medieval centre climbs a low hill crowned by the church of St. Nicholas, and around it lies a chain of lakes that give the town an almost island-like outline.
The Elbe–Lübeck Canal passes the town, following the course of the old Stecknitz Canal, one of the earliest summit canals in Europe, which once carried salt from Lüneburg to Lübeck. Mölln is also linked with Till Eulenspiegel, the prankster of German folklore, who according to tradition died here in 1350.

The canal follows the route of the medieval Stecknitz Canal, part of the Old Salt Route, and runs as a long, straight line past the town.
