Te mapa
Padingbüttel lies in the Land Wursten, a stretch of coastal marsh on the eastern side of the Weser estuary in northern Lower Saxony. The landscape is almost perfectly flat, and on a map it reads as a pattern of long, narrow fields separated by drainage ditches, with a few roads crossing it and farmsteads set along them. Toward the sea, the dike forms a firm, continuous line.
Settlements along this coast were traditionally built on raised mounds, known as Wurten, to protect them from flooding before the dikes were closed, and the region takes its name from them. Padingbüttel is a small place, with a territory of around nine square kilometres, and its map is shaped far more by water management and farming than by any dense street network.
Since 2015 Padingbüttel has belonged to the municipality of Wurster Nordseeküste. A Padingbüttel map poster shows the settlement in its open setting: the lines of ditches and field boundaries stretching toward the horizon, the local roads connecting it with neighbouring villages, and the coast and the Wadden Sea beyond the dike.
Long, straight ditches divide the marsh into narrow strips of land, creating a fine linear pattern that covers much of the map around the village.
The sea dike runs along the coast toward the sea side of the village, a continuous line separating the reclaimed marsh from the tidal flats of the Wadden Sea.
Farms and houses are strung along the few local roads rather than gathered in a dense centre, giving the settlement a loose, open character on the map.

Koteā ko Padingbüttel
This is a map for people tied to the Wurster coast: families who have farmed the marsh, visitors who return each summer, anyone who knows the particular flatness of this landscape. It turns fields and ditches into a quiet, almost abstract composition.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised with a name, a farm or a year, and five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Printed posters ship from print partners in more than 30 countries.
