Morrinhos is a municipality in northern Ceará, on the lowland between the interior and the Atlantic coast. The name means "little hills", but the setting is mostly flat and open, with farmland and dry scrub around a small urban centre.
The town itself is compact. A few main streets meet in the centre around the church and square, and blocks spread out from there without any single dominant axis. Roads lead out to neighbouring municipalities and toward the coast, and at the edges the streets thin into rural lanes.
