Curving highland roads
The roads follow the rolling ground, bending around slopes. That gives the poster flowing lines rather than a rigid grid.

Te mapa
Mtwango is in Njombe region, in Tanzania's Southern Highlands. The country here is high, cool and rolling, very different from the coastal lowlands. On a map, the settlement looks less like a dense grid and more like a loose network of roads and tracks. Buildings gather along them, and farm plots and planted land fill the space between.
The Njombe area is known for its tree plantations and for tea, and large blocks of planted land give the region a patterned look from above. Roads bend to follow the terrain instead of running straight, so the lines on the map curve gently around slopes and valleys. Seen from above, the landscape looks worked by hand rather than laid out on a plan.
A Mtwango map poster turns this highland pattern into a spare black-and-white image. It shows the main road through the area, the branching tracks and the dotted outline of homes and fields. The print is best suited to people with a direct link to the place, whether they grew up there, work there or have family nearby.
The roads follow the rolling ground, bending around slopes. That gives the poster flowing lines rather than a rigid grid.
Njombe region is known for plantation forestry and tea. Large blocks of planted land appear as broad, calm shapes between the roads.
Homes spread out along roads and tracks instead of forming one tight centre, so the settlement pattern runs lightly across the whole print.

Koteā ko Mtwango
Mtwango is rarely drawn anywhere, which is exactly why a map of it matters. It suits people who come from the Southern Highlands, or who spent time there, and want the place on the wall at the right scale.
You can add a family name or a date as the title and subtitle, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose between Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand to match the room.
