Te mapa
Muvattupuzha lies in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, and its name describes its map. It means three rivers, and the town grew at the point where three streams meet to form the Muvattupuzha River. From above, the water dominates: river channels curve through the town, and roads and bridges cross them to connect the neighbourhoods on each bank.
The surrounding landscape is typical of central Kerala, with low hills, dense green cover and scattered houses among plantations. On the map, the town centre is compact near the confluence, while the roads beyond it follow the curves of the terrain rather than any grid, leading out towards the highlands to the east and the coast to the west.
A Muvattupuzha map poster shows one of the clearest examples of a town defined by rivers. The meeting of three channels gives the composition its natural centre, and the bridges provide short, strong accents across the water. In black and white, the curving rivers and winding roads form a soft, flowing image.
The three streams that give the town its name meet near the centre, forming a distinctive shape that becomes the focal point of the map.
Several bridges cross the river channels, linking the parts of town divided by water and appearing as short lines across the curves.
Outside the centre, roads wind with the low hills and green land, so the street pattern is curved and branching rather than regular.
