Te mapa
Myeik sits near the southern tip of Myanmar, where the Tanintharyi coast breaks into water and islands. On a map the town is a compact cluster of streets pressed against the shoreline, with a narrow channel separating it from a larger island just offshore. Beyond that lies open sea dotted with land, the first outliers of an archipelago that stretches far to the south and west.
The Mergui Archipelago, named after the town's older English name, counts hundreds of islands, most of them thinly settled and covered in forest. For generations Myeik has lived from the water: fishing, trade along the coast and pearl cultivation in the surrounding bays. That relationship shows clearly in the plan, where jetties, landing points and waterfront lanes outnumber long straight avenues.
A Myeik map poster reduces all of this to line and space. The fine mesh of town streets holds one part of the frame, while the coastline and islands turn the rest into a composition of irregular shapes on white. It suits anyone who knows the town, and anyone drawn to maps where the sea does as much work as the land.
A narrow strait runs directly in front of the town, with a sizeable island on the far side. On paper it reads as a dark ribbon framing the waterfront.
Offshore, the coast dissolves into the Mergui Archipelago. Even at town scale the first islands appear as scattered, softly outlined shapes that give the composition depth.
The oldest streets follow the shore, feeding short lanes down to landing points. Their irregular spacing contrasts with the looser pattern of roads further from the water.

Koteā ko Myeik
People hang Myeik for the pull of the coast: a family link to Tanintharyi, a boat trip out to the islands, or simply the pleasure of a map that is half water. It makes a quiet piece for a hallway or a study.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a date or a name, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint in particular brings out the channels and island outlines.
