Te mapa
Nakiska lies in Kananaskis Country, Alberta, on the eastern slopes of the Rockies about an hour west of Calgary. From above, the ski runs sit on the side of Mount Allan, facing the broad Kananaskis valley. Highway 40 and the Kananaskis River run along the valley floor in long, nearly parallel lines, with forested ridges rising on either side.
The resort was built for the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics and hosted the alpine skiing events. Its layout still reflects that purpose, with wide, carefully graded runs spread across the mountain face. On the map they show as a set of broad pale stripes cutting through dense forest.
A Nakiska map poster shows a quieter corner of the Canadian Rockies, a mountain designed for racing set within a wide, largely undeveloped valley. The combination of clean trail lines, the river and the highway makes for a spare, well-balanced print. It suits anyone with ties to Calgary, the Olympic Games or Kananaskis Country.
The ski runs are laid across the eastern slope of Mount Allan. They form a series of broad lines descending toward the valley.
The Kananaskis River winds along the flat valley bottom below the resort. Its braided channels contrast with the straight trails above.
The highway runs the length of the valley and links the resort to the Trans-Canada. It gives the map a clean line along its base.

Koteā ko Nakiska
For Calgarians Nakiska is the nearest big mountain and a link to the 1988 Olympics that shaped the city. A print of it suits a home in town, a cabin in the foothills or the wall of anyone who learned to ski there.
Set your own title, add a subtitle such as a season or a race, and edit the coordinates line. Then choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand gives the valley a warm tone, while Noir sharpens the trail lines.
