Te mapa
Red Deer sits halfway between Calgary and Edmonton, on the Queen Elizabeth II Highway corridor. The city is built around the Red Deer River, which loops through it in wide bends. Along those bends, parkland valleys remain free of buildings, so the map shows a green, winding spine running through otherwise regular neighbourhoods.
That spine is the Waskasoo Park system, a network of trails and natural areas following the river and its creeks. Around it, newer suburbs spread out with curving crescents and cul-de-sacs, while older districts near downtown keep a straighter grid. The name comes from a Cree term for elk, which early traders translated as red deer.
A Red Deer map poster shows the river as the main character: its loops define downtown's position and separate the north and south sides of the city. Highways frame the outer edges, and farmland begins right beyond the last streets, leaving a clear sense of a prairie city shaped by its valley.
The Red Deer River winds through the city in broad meanders, splitting it into distinct sections and giving the map its natural curves.
Trails and green corridors follow the river and creeks, leaving long unbuilt bands that stand out between neighbourhoods.
The QEII Highway runs along the western side, a firm straight line connecting the city to Calgary and Edmonton.

Koteā ko Red Deer
Red Deer is where many Albertans grew up, studied or settled between the two big cities, and this map makes that place feel personal. Add your family name, a key year or your neighbourhood, and set the coordinates line.
Five styles are available: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint makes the river loops especially clear, while Noir suits long winter nights. Printed posters are available with matte paper and an optional wooden frame.
