Te mapa
New Philadelphia is the seat of Tuscarawas County in eastern Ohio, founded in the early nineteenth century on the Tuscarawas River. It shares its valley with Dover, just across the water, and the two towns together form the main urban area of the county, surrounded by farmland and wooded hills.
The downtown is laid out around a central square with the county courthouse, and the streets extend from it in a regular grid that is typical of Ohio towns of that era. The river curves along the edge of the city, with highway and rail lines following the valley. Just outside town lies Schoenbrunn Village, a reconstruction of an eighteenth-century Moravian mission settlement.
A New Philadelphia map poster captures the order of the grid, the quiet anchor of the courthouse square and the soft curve of the Tuscarawas. The river gives the composition a natural boundary, and the streets fan out from the centre toward residential neighbourhoods and the open country beyond.

The river loops along the edge of the city and separates it from Dover, adding a smooth, curving line to the regular grid.
Schoenbrunn Village, the reconstructed Moravian mission, lies on the southeastern side of town among open land and trees, a quiet counterpoint to the street grid.
