Te mapa
Nishitawara is a small community in the inland Harima area of Hyōgo Prefecture, north of Himeji. It lies in a valley landscape typical of the region. Flat land along a river is used for rice and housing, and wooded hills rise on either side. On a map, the built-up areas look like narrow bands on the valley floor, with forest filling the higher ground.
Roads and rail lines follow the valley, because that is where the land allows them to run. Short lanes branch off toward farm clusters and shrines at the foot of the hills. The resulting pattern combines long lines of transport, small irregular residential blocks and a scattering of paddies, all enclosed by the contours of the surrounding slopes.
A Nishitawara map poster shows rural Japan at a fine scale. Nothing in the composition is dramatic, but everything is legible: the river, the lanes, the fields and the edge where the valley meets the woods. For people with family ties here, the map gives a precise picture of a small place that general maps rarely show in detail.
Housing and farmland share the level ground along the river. They form a narrow, lived-in strip that runs through the middle of the map.
Forested slopes rise on both sides of the valley, giving the poster soft, natural borders and a strong sense of enclosure.
Roads and rail follow the valley in long parallel lines, linking the community with Himeji and other towns in the Harima area.

Koteā ko Nishitawara
Nishitawara is the kind of place people frame because it is theirs: a grandparent's house, a school route or the valley they return to each summer. A detailed map keeps it close.
Edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose from five styles, including warm Paper and Sand. HD PNG and PDF files cost $9 in six sizes, or order a printed poster shipped from a regional partner.
