Te mapa
Nørresundby sits on the north bank of the Limfjord, directly opposite Aalborg. On a map the water is the dominant shape: a broad channel curving across the sheet, with the older streets of Nørresundby lined up along the shore and newer neighbourhoods spreading uphill behind them. Three crossings stitch the two banks together, the Limfjord Bridge, a railway bridge and the motorway tunnel carrying the E45.
The town was independent until 1970, when it became part of Aalborg municipality, and it still keeps its own character on the northern side. Its best-known site is Lindholm Høje, a hilltop burial ground from the Iron Age and Viking Age, where hundreds of graves are marked by stones set in ovals, circles and the outline of ships.
A Nørresundby map poster takes advantage of the fjord. The water fills a large part of the frame with calm, open space, the shoreline draws a long clean edge, and the bridges add delicate linking lines. Above the town, the open field of Lindholm Høje and the airport to the west give the composition a spacious northern half.

The Viking-age burial ground on the hill above town appears as an open green area among the streets, one of the most significant archaeological sites in Denmark.
The older part of town follows the shoreline in a long band, with streets running parallel to the fjord and shorter lanes climbing up away from the water.
