Te mapa
Okoa lies in Cameroon's Centre Region, on the rolling plateau to the east of Yaoundé. The terrain here is hilly and cut by small valleys, and on a map the streets follow ridges and slopes rather than a planned grid. Built-up areas form loose clusters along the main roads, with gaps of greenery between them where streams run through the lower ground.
Because the town sits close to the capital, its growth follows the roads that link it to Yaoundé and to the surrounding countryside. Beyond the settled areas, the land opens into farmland and patches of forest typical of the central Cameroonian plateau. Unpaved tracks branch off the main routes and wind toward villages and fields.
An Okoa map poster shows a place shaped by its hills, where each road bends with the land. In black and white, that loose, organic pattern looks especially clear: dense clusters, curving connections and open space where the valleys fall away.
Streets and tracks in Okoa trace the tops of ridges and the sides of hills. Their gentle curves give the map a flowing, hand-drawn quality.
Small streams run through the lower ground between the hills. They create natural breaks in the built-up areas and thin, winding lines on the poster.
Main roads connect Okoa with the capital to the west. They form the clearest axes on the map, and new building tends to line them.
