Okolona lies in the southern part of Louisville Metro in Kentucky. On a map it reads as classic American postwar suburbia. Preston Highway runs through it as a strong north–south spine, and wide arterials cross it at regular intervals. Between them, residential streets curl into loops, crescents and dead ends, laid out one subdivision at a time.
The texture changes block by block. Commercial strips along the main roads show up as larger parcels with sparse street lines. The neighbourhoods behind them fill in with dense, curving patterns.
