Te mapa
Ōkuchi-shinohara belongs to the Ōkuchi area of Isa, in the north of Kagoshima Prefecture, well away from the coasts that define most of southern Kyushu. On the map it reads as a modest cluster of streets sitting in a broad inland basin, with farmland spreading around it and wooded hills closing the view on several sides.
The Isa basin is known across Japan for its rice, and the fields show up as a fine, orderly grid of plots between the roads and settlements. The Sendai River runs through the wider area, its course visible as a clear curving line among the paddies and villages.
An Ōkuchi-shinohara map poster is a portrait of rural Kyushu more than a city plan. It shows a quiet street pattern, the ribbon of a river, field boundaries and the forested slopes beyond. Printed in black and white, the fine lines of the farmland give the image an almost textile quality.
Rice paddies divide the flat ground into small, regular plots, one of the most distinctive textures on the map and a sign of the area's long farming tradition.
The Sendai River traces a wide, curving line through the Isa area, the strongest natural feature among the fields and scattered settlements.
Forested hills rise around the basin, so the map fades from dense streets and fields into open, unmarked ground at its edges.

This map is for people with roots in northern Kagoshima, or for anyone who values the calm shape of rural Japan. Rather than a skyline, it shows where people actually live and work: fields, river and hills.
