Te mapa
Olbia lies on the north-eastern coast of Sardinia, at the inner end of a long, sheltered gulf. The map is shaped by water: the old centre sits by the harbour, ferry quays and port basins reach into the bay, and low wetlands and inlets break up the coast around the city. Offshore, the high island of Tavolara closes the view to the south-east.
The site has been a port since antiquity, settled in Punic and Roman times, and the Romanesque basilica of San Simplicio still stands near the centre. Today Olbia is one of Sardinia's main gateways, with ferries to the Italian mainland and an airport serving the Costa Smeralda to the north.
An Olbia map poster frames the city against the gulf. You can follow the harbour front, the grid of the centre behind it, and the roads leading out toward the beaches and headlands. The irregular coastline gives the design much of its character, with land and water in almost equal parts.
The long, narrow gulf reaches deep inland and ends at the city. Its shape draws the eye into the map and explains why Olbia has served as a port for more than two thousand years.
Ferry terminals and harbour basins extend from the city into the water on piers and reclaimed land. On the map they form sharp, geometric shapes along the softer natural shoreline.
South-east of the gulf, the limestone island of Tavolara rises steeply from the sea. On a wider frame, it anchors the corner of the poster as a clear, distinctive outline.

Koteā ko Olbia
Olbia is where many trips to Sardinia begin and end, and for some it is where a summer house or a family story is. A map of the gulf and harbour is a lasting reminder of arrivals, departures and long evenings by the sea.
