Oud-Beijerland is the largest town in the Hoeksche Waard, the island of polders south of Rotterdam. It grew along the Spui, one of the delta's tidal waterways, and its historic centre still follows the old line of dike and harbour. The newer neighbourhoods built for commuters to Rotterdam have spread outward from there.
The map shows a clear sequence. The river runs along one edge. Next comes the long historic core, with the harbour cutting inland and dike streets running beside it. Around that are later residential districts with a more planned pattern of streets and canals. Beyond the town, the polders open into large rectangular fields bordered by ditches and country roads.
An Oud-Beijerland map poster brings together the waterway, the dike and the reclaimed land, which are the basic elements of a Dutch delta town. The layout is easy to read, and anyone who knows the Hoeksche Waard will recognise its logic immediately.
The tidal river runs past the town. Its broad band of water forms the map's natural edge and shows the town's delta setting.
The old harbour reaches into the town centre, with dike streets running alongside. It is the historic spine of the plan.
Around the town, the Hoeksche Waard's reclaimed land is divided into large regular plots, adding clean lines to the open space.

Koteā ko Oud-Beijerland
Many people move to Oud-Beijerland for the space and the water while still working in Rotterdam. A map poster marks that choice, whether it is a first house, a new family or a place to call home.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a street, a name or a moving date. The poster comes in Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
