Te mapa
Paracho de Verduzco lies in the highlands of Michoacán, on the Meseta Purépecha, a plateau of volcanic hills, pine forests and farming villages. The town is known across Mexico and beyond for its guitars. Workshops of luthiers line its streets, and every August it holds a national guitar fair that brings together makers and musicians.
From above, Paracho is a fairly regular colonial-style grid, laid out around a central square with its church, from which straight streets run out to the edges of town. Beyond them the pattern changes to fields and roads following the curves of the hills. The main highway through the plateau passes along the town and links it to neighbouring communities.
A Paracho de Verduzco map poster suits the craft the town is known for: it is about precise lines and careful proportions. The grid in the centre reads like a fretboard, orderly and even, while the surrounding country adds looser, organic shapes. For guitarists, it is a way to hang the birthplace of their instrument on the wall.
The historic centre follows a traditional grid around the main square and church. Its regular blocks form the clearest and densest part of the poster.
Around the town, the plateau rises into forested hills and farmland. On the map, roads and paths curve with the terrain, softening the edges of the grid.
The main road across the Meseta Purépecha runs past Paracho, connecting it with other towns of the plateau. It forms a strong line across the composition.

Koteā ko Paracho de Verduzco
Anyone who plays a guitar made in Paracho, or who has walked through its workshops, has a reason to keep this map close. It connects an object you use every day with the place where it was made.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with the name of a workshop or the year you bought your instrument, and choose one of five styles. Sand and Paper both give a warm, woody tone.
