Te mapa
Pehuajó is in the west of Buenos Aires province, surrounded by flat pampas farmland. Its plan is what you would expect from a town founded on the open plain. It has a regular grid of square blocks, a central plaza and straight roads running out into the countryside in every direction.
Many Argentines know the town's name from a children's song. In María Elena Walsh's Manuelita la tortuga, the turtle Manuelita lives in Pehuajó, and the town has embraced her as a local symbol. Apart from that, it is an agricultural centre whose life is tied to the fields around it.
A Pehuajó map poster is a study in order. Square blocks repeat across the frame, the edges are clean where the grid ends, and the lines of rural roads lead away. The simplicity is the point. It is one of the most graphic kinds of map you can hang.
Square blocks spread evenly from the centre. They form a clean, repeating pattern that is typical of towns founded on the pampas.
The main square sits at the heart of the grid. It is the one open space from which the whole plan is organised.
Straight rural roads run out of town toward the farmland, extending the grid's geometry to the horizon.

Koteā ko Pehuajó
Pehuajó belongs to everyone who grew up with the song, and especially to those who grew up in its streets. The map makes a warm gift for someone from the town, or a playful one for a child who knows Manuelita.
You can write your own title, add a subtitle such as a family name and edit the coordinates line. The poster comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
