Te mapa
Penrith lies in the Eden valley in Cumbria, a few miles north of Ullswater, with the M6 running along its western side. The town sits between the River Eamont to the south and the Petteril to the east, and the map shows a compact centre of market squares and narrow lanes, with later housing spreading up the slopes toward the wooded hill that rises to the northeast.
That hill carries the Beacon, a stone tower built in the early eighteenth century on a site long used for warning fires. Below it the town is known for its red sandstone buildings, the ruins of Penrith Castle opposite the railway station, and the churchyard of St Andrew's, where the ancient stones called the Giant's Grave stand.
A Penrith map poster shows how a market town and a transport crossroads fit together. The irregular squares and yards of the centre sit against the long straight line of the motorway and the railway, while the rivers and the Beacon mark the edges. For visitors to the Lakes it is often the first town reached, and many remember it that way.
The historic centre opens into a series of small squares linked by narrow streets and yards, a pattern that makes Penrith instantly recognisable from above.
Wooded slopes rise northeast of town, crowned by the Beacon tower, with footpaths winding through the trees and housing stopping at the woodland edge.
The motorway runs along the western side while the Eamont and Petteril curve around the south and east, framing the town on three sides.

Koteā ko Penrith
Penrith is both a home town and a gateway, the place where holidays to Ullswater begin or where family roots in the Eden valley are anchored. A map honours either connection with a clean, understated design.
You can set a title, a subtitle with a date or dedication, and your own coordinates line. The five styles include Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, available as $9 HD downloads or as printed posters on matte paper.
