Te mapa
Phú Khương lies in the Tây Ninh area of southern Vietnam, close to the city of Tây Ninh and not far from the Cambodian border. The land here is low and level. The map shows a settlement stretched along its roads, with houses and shops lining the main routes and gardens, fields and plantations filling the spaces between them.
The region is known for two landmarks. Núi Bà Đen, the Black Virgin Mountain, rises abruptly from the plain to the north. It is the highest peak in southern Vietnam and a place of pilgrimage, with temples on its slopes. Just outside Tây Ninh city stands the Holy See of the Cao Đài religion, which was founded in this province in the 1920s.
A Phú Khương map poster records the everyday geometry of a southern plains town: long roads lined with buildings, irrigation channels and the fine divisions of fields. In monochrome the pattern becomes a calm study in lines, closely tied to the flat country around it.
Buildings follow the main roads in long continuous lines, a pattern common across southern Vietnam that gives the map strong directional strokes.
Rice paddies, rubber and other crops fill the land between the roads. Divided into regular plots, they create a fine, even texture.
To the north, the solitary mass of Núi Bà Đen breaks the plain. It is a landmark for the whole province and can be seen from far across the flat land.
