Te mapa
Phum Ânlŭng Vĭl lies in Battambang province in northwestern Cambodia, on the broad, fertile plain that has made the region one of the country's main rice-growing areas. From above the settlement is a scattering of houses along roads and tracks, with irrigated fields and small waterways in between. There is no dense centre, only a lived-in countryside.
Battambang province is often called Cambodia's rice bowl, and the landscape around the community shows why. Fields stretch in every direction, divided by low embankments and irrigation channels, and houses follow the roads in long lines, many raised on stilts and set among trees and gardens.
A Phum Ânlŭng Vĭl map poster keeps the focus on that quiet rural pattern. Settlements gather along a few long lines, and the fields and water between them give the map space to breathe. It is a portrait of a farming community, and its simplicity works well in the minimalist black-and-white style.
Houses line the roads rather than gathering in blocks, so the community appears as a set of long, lived-in lines across the map.
Flat irrigated fields fill the spaces between roads, giving the map large open areas typical of the Battambang countryside.
Small canals and channels thread through the fields, drawing faint lines that show how water is managed across the plain.
