Phumĭ Tnaôt is a settlement in Kampong Thom province, in the low central plains of Cambodia between the Tonle Sap basin and the northern uplands. Phumĭ is the Khmer word for village, and tnaôt refers to the sugar palm, a tree that stands over rice fields across the country. From above, the place reads as a loose pattern rather than a dense town.
The map is made of roads and lanes that follow the edges of fields, houses strung along them, and the ditches and ponds typical of the Cambodian countryside. There is no grand plan here, and that is the appeal. The lines are practical, shaped by water and farming, and they sit lightly on wide, flat ground.
Kampong Thom province is also home to Sambor Prei Kuk, the pre-Angkorian temple site listed by UNESCO, a reminder of how long this landscape has been settled. A Phumĭ Tnaôt map poster keeps things simple, with a few firm roads and a great deal of quiet space. It is a fitting way to hold on to a place that rarely appears on printed maps.

Kampong Thom lies in the flat heart of the country, so the map has few contours to follow and plenty of calm white space around its roads.
Ponds, channels and seasonal streams, common across these rice-growing lowlands, add small irregular shapes that break up the straight lines of roads and field edges.

Koteā ko Phumĭ Tnaôt
A map like this is often for someone with family roots in Kampong Thom, or for a traveller who spent time in the Cambodian countryside and wants a quiet record of it. Few places this size ever make it onto a wall, which is part of what makes it personal.
Add your own title and subtitle, such as a family name or a meaningful date, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then order the $9 HD files or a printed poster on matte paper.
