Te mapa
Hồng Ngự sits on the Tiền River, the northern branch of the Mekong, in the upper part of Đồng Tháp province close to the Cambodian border. On a map the river dominates: a broad band of water with islands and sandbars, and the town lined up along its bank. Canals cut inland at intervals, carrying roads and houses with them into the farmland.
This is flood country. Each year the Mekong rises and spreads across the surrounding plains, and settlements here have long been built around that rhythm, with raised roads, dikes and residential clusters on higher ground. The town serves as a trading point for the upper delta and for river traffic moving to and from Cambodia.
A Hồng Ngự map poster turns this into a composition of strong horizontals: the river, the dikes and the long canal-side roads. The built-up area reads as a narrow band pressed against the water, and the wide fields beyond give the design generous breathing space.
The Mekong's northern branch runs past the town as a wide channel with islands and bars, the largest single shape on the poster and its visual backbone.
Straight canals run inland from the river, each with a road and a line of houses beside it, reaching into the fields like the teeth of a comb.
Embankments built against the annual flood trace long, clean lines across the low plain, marking the boundary between settlement and farmland.

Koteā ko Hồng Ngự
For people from the upper delta, this map shows the river they grew up beside and the flood seasons that shaped daily life. Its broad, calm shapes also work well in rooms where a busier city plan would feel crowded.
