Podujeva is the main town of the Llap region in north-eastern Kosovo, lying in the valley of the Llap River north-east of Pristina. The main road from Pristina runs through the town and continues north toward the border crossing with Serbia at Merdare, making Podujeva a waypoint on an important route.
The valley shapes the map: the river runs through the lower ground, the town's streets spread across the valley floor, and the hills rise on either side. Beyond the centre, villages scattered through the Llap region are connected by a network of rural roads.
