Te mapa
Potsdam, the capital of Brandenburg, sits just southwest of Berlin, and the map shows how much of it is water. The Havel widens into a chain of lakes around the city, leaving the centre on land framed by channels and shorelines. Large landscaped parks spread across the north and west, and the baroque centre fills the space between them.
Potsdam was the residence of the Prussian kings, and its palaces and gardens, including Sanssouci, form a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Glienicke Bridge, where East and West exchanged captured agents during the Cold War, connects the city to Berlin. Babelsberg, in the east of the city, is home to one of the oldest large film studios in the world.
A Potsdam map poster presents all of this in careful detail: the curving lakeshores, the formal paths of the palace parks and the regular blocks of the old town and Dutch Quarter. It is a composition where water and landscape design play as large a role as the streets.
Broad lakes and river channels encircle much of the city, creating soft, irregular shapes that frame the built-up areas on the poster.
West of the centre, the long main avenue and the garden paths of Sanssouci form a delicate network, clearly distinct from the surrounding streets.
At the eastern edge, the bridge crosses the Havel toward Berlin, a small line on the map with a large place in Cold War history.

Koteā ko Potsdam
Potsdam appeals to people who love gardens, architecture and water, as well as to those who studied, worked or grew up there. Its map is elegant and detailed, well suited to a larger print size.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with the date of a wedding at one of the palaces. Then choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
