Te mapa
Praia Grande means big beach, and the map explains the name at once. A long, almost straight sand line runs along the Atlantic, and behind it the city is laid out in narrow bands. Streets parallel to the shore alternate with short cross streets, so the plan reads as a long strip, not a centre with suburbs around it.
The city is part of the Baixada Santista, the coastal lowland below the São Paulo plateau. For generations families from the state capital have come here for weekends and holidays. Its growth follows the coastline, and holiday blocks gradually turned into permanent neighbourhoods.
Inland, the pattern breaks up where the flat coastal plain meets rivers, mangroves and the steep green slopes of the Serra do Mar. A Praia Grande map poster shows that contrast clearly, with an ordered grid along the water and looser, softer shapes behind it.
A long, gently curving sand beach runs along the whole city. On the poster it is a single clean line between the street grid and the open ocean.
Streets run in long lines parallel to the sea, crossed by short perpendicular ones. The result is a striped pattern that makes the city easy to recognise from above.
Inland, the grid meets rivers, wetland and the foothills of the Serra do Mar. Streets thin out there and natural outlines take over.

Koteā ko Praia Grande
Praia Grande is often where people spent their childhood summers, kept a family flat or finally moved to live by the sea. A map of the coastline makes a simple, calm reminder of those years.
Add the family surname, the year you first stayed, or the name of a beach district, and set the coordinates to your building. Sand and Paper suit the coast well, and Classic black & white and Blueprint are also available.
