Te mapa
Pujilí lies in the province of Cotopaxi in the Ecuadorian highlands, a short distance west of Latacunga. The town sits on the lower slopes at the western edge of the inter-Andean valley, and its map shows a compact colonial-style core of square blocks, with streets growing more irregular as they climb into the hills.
Around the town the land breaks up into small fields and ravines, a patchwork typical of the high Andes. The roads leading west climb toward the páramo and the Western Cordillera, and in black and white the tidy centre stands out against the looser, contour-shaped lines beyond it.
Pujilí is well known in Ecuador for its Corpus Christi celebrations, when danzantes in tall, ornate headdresses dance through the streets, and for the pottery tradition of the surrounding communities. A Pujilí map poster brings those plazas and streets onto the wall in a clean, graphic form.
The centre follows a grid of square blocks around a main plaza, the ordered heart of the town that the festival processions pass through.
At the edges, streets bend and climb with the terrain, and ravines and small fields break the pattern into irregular shapes.
The town looks east across the valley toward Latacunga, with the road linking the two forming a clear line out of the frame.

Koteā ko Pujilí
Pujilí means festival days, highland light and family ties to many who have left for Quito or overseas. A map of the town keeps all that close while fitting easily into a modern home.
You can add your own title and subtitle, such as a family name or a festival year, and keep the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, then download the files or order a printed poster.
