Te mapa
Pýrgos is the capital of the Elis regional unit in the western Peloponnese. It stands on gently rising ground above a broad farming plain, a few kilometres inland from the Ionian coast. From above, the centre is a dense tangle of older streets around its squares that loosens outward into newer neighbourhoods and orchards.
The town has long been the commercial centre of the Elis plain, and parts of its core keep neoclassical buildings from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. It is also the nearest sizeable town to Ancient Olympia, and cruise ships bound for the site call at the nearby port of Katakolo.
A Pýrgos map poster brings out the change from compact centre to open plain, with main roads leaving for the coast, Patras and Olympia. The Alfeios river flows past to the south on its way to the sea, and it can frame the lower part of a wider composition.
Narrow streets and small squares form the densest part of the map. This is the old commercial heart, where much of the town's neoclassical architecture survives.
Main routes run out toward Patras, the coast at Katakolo and inland Olympia, drawing clear lines across the surrounding farmland.
To the south the Alfeios river winds toward the Ionian Sea. Its soft, meandering line gives a wider crop of the map a natural edge.

Koteā ko Pýrgos
Many people pass through Pýrgos on the way to Olympia, and others call it home for a lifetime. Either way, a map of its streets makes a thoughtful piece for a study, a kitchen or a hallway.
Every poster can be personalised: set the title, add a subtitle and keep or edit the coordinates line. The five styles range from Classic black & white and Noir to the warmer Paper and Sand, with Blueprint for a cooler, technical look.
