Randers sits where Denmark's longest river, the Gudenå, meets the inner end of Randers Fjord. From above, the water is the organising line: the river bends through the southern edge of town, and the fjord opens eastward as a narrow channel running toward the Kattegat. The streets climb gently north from the riverbank, so the plan reads as a town that grew uphill from its quays.
At the centre is a compact old core of short, irregular streets, a medieval pattern that survived as the town expanded around it. Beyond it, later residential districts spread out in looser loops and cul-de-sacs, and ring and arterial roads curve around the edges. Rail lines and the river corridor cut through the middle, giving the map several clear directions rather than one dominant axis.
Randers has long been an industrial and trading town, historically known for its glove making, and today it is also known for Randers Regnskov, a tropical zoo under large domes beside the river. A Randers map poster shows how closely the town is still tied to its water: the old core, the harbour edge, and the green riverside all sit within a few blocks of each other.
The Gudenå curves along the south side of town before widening into the fjord, and its banks carry a band of green space and footpaths that reads clearly as open ground on the map.
East of the centre the river becomes Randers Fjord, a long, slender inlet. On a poster its narrow shape pulls the eye outward, leading from the dense town toward the open coast.
The old centre keeps a tight cluster of short, slightly crooked streets and small squares, noticeably finer in grain than the broader suburban loops laid out around it.

Koteā ko Randers
For people from Jutland, or anyone who has studied, worked or grown up here, Randers is easy to recognise from its river and fjord alone. The map works as a quiet reminder of a particular place rather than a picture postcard, and suits a hallway or study.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a family name or a year you lived there, and choose between Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The digital files cost $9, or you can order a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
