Te mapa
Raposos lies in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, in Minas Gerais, along the Rio das Velhas. The terrain is steep and hilly, and the town is squeezed onto the valley floor. Its streets follow the river and climb the slopes around it. From above, the layout is long and irregular and owes far more to the land than to any plan.
The settlement dates back to the gold-mining era around the turn of the eighteenth century, when the Rio das Velhas valley drew prospectors into the interior of Minas. It is often counted among the oldest settlements in the state. It lies between Sabará and Nova Lima, close to the big city but still defined by its river and hills.
A Raposos map poster shows a town traced along the river's curves, with lanes branching up small side valleys and ending against wooded hillsides. The Rio das Velhas and the road beside it form the main axis. This gives the print a sinuous, flowing composition that feels distinctly Mineiro.
The river winds through the centre of the map. The town has grown along it, and it forms the natural axis of the composition.
Streets follow the valley floor and fork up into side valleys. The result is a branching network that fits closely into the hilly terrain.
Steep, largely wooded hills surround the town and frame the built-up strip with broad natural spaces on either side.

Koteā ko Raposos
The map suits families with long roots in Raposos and those who now commute to Belo Horizonte but still call the valley home. It captures the shape of a place that has been lived in since colonial times.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a name, a date or a message, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The digital files cost $9 with no watermark, and printed posters come on matte paper with an optional wooden frame.
