Te mapa
Rohri sits on the east bank of the Indus in Sindh, directly across the river from Sukkur. On a map the Indus is a wide band, and the two towns face each other across it. Between them lies the island of Bukkur, and just downstream the small island of Sadh Belo, with its temple complex. The river is at the centre of the whole scene.
Bridges are the most notable features. The Lansdowne Bridge, opened in 1889, was once among the longest cantilever bridges in the world, and it still crosses from Rohri toward Bukkur. A later arch bridge carries the railway beside it. A Rohri map poster shows these crossings as fine lines connecting the banks and islands.
The old town climbs onto the limestone hills rising behind the riverbank, which are known for their prehistoric flint workshops. Rohri is also an important railway junction, with the tracks running along the edge of town. From above, it is a dense riverside settlement tied to its larger neighbour by the Indus and the bridges crossing it.
The wide river separates Rohri from Sukkur. Its islands and bridges make one of the most striking river scenes in Sindh.
This nineteenth-century bridge spans the river from the Rohri bank. Next to it, a railway bridge adds a second parallel line across the water.
Behind the old town, bare hills rise from the riverbank. The streets stop at their edge, leaving open space on the map.

Koteā ko Rohri
For families from Sindh, or anyone who knows the Indus between Sukkur and Rohri, this map holds the river, islands and bridges in one frame. It makes a meaningful heritage print.
Edit the title and subtitle with a family name, a year or a place, and adjust the coordinates. Blueprint suits the engineering of the bridges, and Sand fits the dry river country.
