Te mapa
Roissy-en-Brie is a commune in Seine-et-Marne, a little over 20 kilometres east of central Paris. It should not be confused with Roissy-en-France near Charles de Gaulle airport. The town sits on the flat Brie plateau, and its map mixes three things: an older village core, later housing estates with curving cul-de-sacs, and the straight line of the railway.
The town has a station on the RER E line, which links it directly to Paris and has shaped its growth as a commuter community in recent decades. Beyond the built-up area the plateau opens into fields and patches of woodland. At the edges of the map, suburban streets give way quickly to broad, quiet space.
A Roissy-en-Brie map poster reads clearly because each part of the town has its own texture: the tight lanes of the old centre, the loops and closes of the residential neighbourhoods, and the ruled line of the railway crossing them all. It is a picture of ordinary life in Île-de-France, which is exactly why it means something to the people who live here.
The railway crosses the commune in a straight cut, with a station serving the town. It is the strongest single line on the map and the town's daily link to Paris.
At the heart of the commune, a cluster of short, irregular streets marks the original Brie village. It is denser and older than the neighbourhoods that grew around it.
Fields and woodland surround the built-up area. On the poster these open spaces give the town a clear outline against the flat farmland of the Brie.

For families who settled in Roissy-en-Brie, this map shows a real home rather than a postcard destination. It is often chosen to mark a first house or a childhood address, or as a gift for someone leaving the east of Île-de-France.
