Te mapa
Rutland lies in central Vermont, in a broad valley between the Green Mountains to the east and the Taconic range to the west. Otter Creek runs north along the western side of the city, and the valley floor gives Rutland room for a tighter street grid than most places in the state, with neighbourhoods fanning out from a compact downtown.
The city grew in the nineteenth century as a railroad hub and a centre for the marble industry that shaped the surrounding towns. Rail lines still pass close to the centre, and two major routes, US 4 and US 7, meet here, making it a crossroads for travellers heading to the ski areas in the mountains to the east.
A Rutland map poster shows a New England city of practical proportions: a dense core by the tracks, streets that loosen into residential blocks and then into farmland and woods, and the valley shape visible as the network thins toward the hills. Since 1960, the city has also hosted a well-known Halloween parade through its downtown.
The commercial centre sits beside the rail corridor, where tracks and yards form a strong band through the densest part of the city.
The creek winds north along the western edge, its curves setting a natural boundary against the more regular streets of the neighbourhoods.
The two highways cross in Rutland, one heading toward the mountains and the other along the valley, giving the map clear directional lines.

Koteā ko Rutland
Rutland is a home base for many Vermonters and a familiar stop for anyone who skis or hikes in the Green Mountains. The poster suits a kitchen, a cabin or an office where that valley still feels close.
You can set a title, subtitle and date, keep or adjust the coordinates line, and pick one of five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Printed posters come on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame.
