Te mapa
Saint Joseph lies in northwest Missouri, on the east bank of the Missouri River. On the map, the river forms the western edge of the city, bending past the old downtown, where the street grid is angled to the river. Further east the grid shifts to follow the cardinal directions.
A distinctive feature is the parkway system, a long chain of landscaped boulevards and parks that winds through the city, connecting green spaces. The land rises from the river toward the bluffs, and some streets curve to follow the terrain.
Saint Joseph was the eastern starting point of the Pony Express in 1860, and the outlaw Jesse James was killed in a house there in 1882. Both stories are remembered in local museums. A Saint Joseph map poster shows a river city that once stood at the edge of the American frontier.
The river curves along the western edge of the city, a broad line that anchors the whole poster and explains the angled grid downtown.
Downtown streets are aligned to the river, while later districts follow the compass, and where the two meet the pattern shifts noticeably.
A long chain of winding boulevards and parks crosses the city, a soft curving line that stands out against the grid.

Koteā ko Saint Joseph
Saint Joseph means home to many people who grew up there, and it holds a place in American history. A map of it suits both a family home and a room full of books about the West.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be changed, for example to add a family name or a special date. There are five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
