Te mapa
Samraong is the capital of Oddar Meanchey, a province in northern Cambodia that borders Thailand. The town lies on a flat plain, and the map shows a modest core of streets around the market and administrative buildings, with houses spread out along the main roads. Beyond the edges, the land turns to rice fields, scrub and forest, with water bodies and reservoirs showing up as scattered shapes.
The province is one of the youngest and least populated in Cambodia, and Samraong is its main centre for government, trade and services. Roads link it to Siem Reap to the south and to border crossings in the north, and much of the town has grown up along these routes. For a place like this, the map is the most accurate portrait: a small centre, long roads and a wide, open landscape.
A Samraong map poster reflects that openness. The streets form a small cluster, and the roads that leave it stretch across the surrounding land in long lines. The spare composition leaves generous empty space, which gives the design a calm, uncluttered feel. It is a personal map for people with ties to the northern provinces.
A small cluster of streets around the market and public buildings forms the densest part of the map, set in the middle of a much wider, open landscape.
Main roads extend from the centre toward Siem Reap and the Thai border, and houses line them for some distance, giving the town an elongated shape.
Around the town, fields, forest and water bodies leave most of the map empty, with only tracks and small settlements breaking up the space.

Koteā ko Samraong
For people from Oddar Meanchey, or those who have worked in the northern provinces, a map of Samraong is a rare and personal object. Its simple layout looks calm on a wall and suits a bedroom, an office or a gift for family abroad.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a name, a date or text in Khmer. There are five styles to choose from: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand works well with the warm, open landscape.
